Welcome to 309 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Fort William. We are a local sea component of the Canadian Cadet Program; one of the largest federally sponsored youth programs in Canada. We parade from September to June on Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm to 9:15pm at Pope John Paul II located at 205 Franklin Street South, Thunder Bay, ON.
The program is free to join and is open to all youth between the ages of 12 and 18 who are interested in fun, challenging and rewarding activities. Have fun and make friends while developing leadership skills, good citizenship and physical fitness. Here are a few things that we do... Sailing // SCUBA diving // Boating // Biathlon // Orienteering // Marksmanship // Music // Drill // Summer Training // Physical Fitness // Snow Shoeing // Mountain Biking // Swimming
At Fort William Sea Cadets we strive to excel in physical fitness and leadership. We have based the training year around these complementarity activities. The hands on activities, exciting challenges and leadership opportunities available to our cadets are many. In 223 communities across Canada, there are approximately 9,500 young Canadians who have joined the Cadet Program!
What do youth “get” from our program?
In addition to making life long friends and enjoying experiences they can’t get anywhere else, cadets learn valuable life-skills; like leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, organization and effective communication skills.
